Ask yourself these questions when creating a catchy headline:

2. Why should students trust you? (E.g. years of experience, number of students taught, certifications, etc.)

Requirements for description To pass our description approval process with ease, ensure your description follows the requirements below:

✅DO:

• Mention your qualifications, work experience and the classes/types of students you focus on

• Explain what your lessons will be like for students, mention what teaching methods you’re using

• Include details about your personality, hobbies

• Keep your content engaging and authentic

• Write your description in one language only

• Keep your personal information private

❌DO NOT:

• Write your surname – for privacy reasons

• Include your contact details – students can easily reach out to you through Preply messages

• Add any links to your personal website or social media

• Write in the third person (e.g. “Jennifer is an experienced tutor”)

• Don’t copy and paste your content from your CV or repeat yourself throughout the description

Make your description as student-centered as possible, focusing on how you could help your potential students reach their learning goals.

Your description acts as the supporting message of your video. In your intro video, students get to know your personality. In your description, they understand how you can help them succeed.

Here are some more recommendations to make your description stand out even more:

• Include a warm greeting at the beginning and a strong call to action at the end. A call to action is a sentence that encourages someone to take an action, for example: Book your trial lesson with me and let’s improve your English together.

• Be friendly and be yourself. Your students will spend a lot of their free time with you, so you should come across as approachable.

• Describe what makes you interesting as a person: your interests, hobbies, achievements etc. Keep in mind that this should not be the main focus of your description.

• Split the text into paragraphs and use bullet points to make it easy to read
